Mental Health & Wellbeing in Higher Education

Project Objectives:

Our aim is to develop core mental health support services in Kenyatta and Chuka Universities and provide vulnerable students prevention and support services whilst attending the university.

The project is being implemented in Kenyatta University and Chuka University and is expected to run from January 2019 to December 2020

Services Offered:

  • Access to treatment including clinical and low intensity psychosocial therapies
  • Health promotion including behaviour change and communication skills
  • Peer support services
  • Anti-stigma services
  • Technology leverage

Target Population:

  • University Students
  • University teaching and support staff
  • Wellness staff e.g Counselors etc
  • BasicNeeds Kenya Staff
